Haplognathia rosea Diagnosis


Diagnosis of H. rosea (Sterrer, 1969)

Crimson, pink or colorless Haplognathia with 15-23 µm long jaws whose rostral apophyses are horn-like and short, less than half as long as the jaws (index 0.50 or smaller). Jaws with one strong tooth. Basal plate small, 3-8 µm long and 4-12 µm wide, vertically sculpted, with longitudinal ridges but without thorns. (Sterrer 1998:23).
