Filospermoidea with a short pharyngeal bulb (index usually smaller than 8.0). Basal plate usually longer than wide, rarely slightly wider than long (index more than 0.5), often with teeth or ridges on its dorsal surface. Jaws compact, without a crista, and with small thorns or few teeth arranged in a ventro-lateral arc.
