Diagnosis of Nanognathia Sterrer, 1973a

Plump Onychognathiidae with fairly short rostrum (index just below 1.0), and elongated mouth opening. Epidermal inclusions in groups confined to the ventral body surface. Jaws with fairly long teeth; a terminal tooth is developed. Cauda elongated. Basal plate delicate, simple, and without a distinctive central part.
