Hyperlinks on taxonomic names provide the means for navigating through the database. Any taxon with subtaxa will appear as a hyperlink.

Valid taxa in the listings appear in black font, while synonyms appear in red, and otherwise uncertain taxa in green. Alongside taxa are hyperlinks to information on synonymy, to images of species (for taxonomic listings of genera or species), to free-form notes on the taxa, to literature citations, and to geographic distribution.
