Planaria simplex Notes
Because the genus Planaria is not likely to be represented in North America according to Ball & Gourbault
(1978) (citation), the assignment of this species to that genus is questionable, but it has not been studied,
apparently.
Kenk R 1944 (citation)- p 38, This species was established by Woodworth 1896 (citation), p 94; Woodworth 1896 (citation)- p 239-240. 'The animal had no outstanding characteristics by which the species could be recognized if collected again. It must be left to further investigations of the fauna of Lake Michigan to suggest the identity of Woodworth's animal.'
