Schmidt O 1857 (citation)- p 348 note on.
Schmidt O 1861 (citation)- mentions p 20, 22.
Diesing KM 1862 (citation)- p 212 lists as synonym for his Monotus schultzei.
Uljanin W 1870 (citation)- in Leuckart R 1871 (citation)- definition p 461.

Wagner F v 1891 (citation)- in his review of Graff 1891- p 655, 656, (green color), 664.
Graff L v 1891 (citation)- obtained live specimens to compare with
Convoluta roscoffensis and concludes they are different.
Location- From Adriatic-Trieste etc. Looked for these at type locality- Ancona-
	but bad weather, etc.
Description p 63, 64-66. Plate VII color, species are compared.
Convoluta schultzei - 1mm small, oval, comma shaped moves
plainly along like most acoels. Convoluta roscoffensis 4 mm large-elongated
elegant movement- very flexible movements. Differences in structure confirm
they are separate species. Alike in symbionts and body form, structure of parenchyma,
form of penis, sagittocysts. Some thins about bursal nozzle.
changes in body form (enrolled to ventral side also). packets of red brown pigment points a
	"Stabchenpigmentes"- mostly at anterior end.
	Size- largest 0.5 x 1.8 mm.
	Zoochlorella
	Otocyst- 0.014 mm.
Frontal organ- fills anterior end- opening dorso - anterior
Saggittocysts- only on 1 specimen (1 micrometer long) lacking at posterior end of
		body - like sponge spicules.
	Reproductive organs-
Nozzle- strong and curved, varies with age.
Male copulatory organ- lacks the usual glandular covering [seminal vesicle?] - sperm
are "squared" at each side - 0.23-0.28 mm long and like sperm of
Convoluta roscoffensis. Crystalloid bodies in body give silver-colored area to some.
His figure of these looks like rhabdite
	Food- crustacea and rhabdocoels.

Bohmig L 1895 (citation)- mentions p 7, 15, 43 and lists p 44.
Sabussow H 1905 (citation)- work on this species at lab in Villefranche.

Lohner L, Micoletzky H 1911 (citation)- not same as Convoluta pelagica p 387- zoochlorellae
but no rhabdites p 388. p 407-9 compares this species with Convoluta pelagica.

Wilhelmi J 1913 (citation)- mentions p 36.
Kato K 1951 (citation)- mentions.
Marcus EDB-R 1957 (citation)- in comparison p 169.

Notes for the valid (accepted) taxonomic name

Notes for Symsagittifera schultzei

Kostenko AG, Mamkaev YuV 1990 (citation)- p 21, "Green convoluts possessing symbiotic algae and sagittocysts
are
isolated into a genus Simsagittifera [Symsagittifera] which is also characterized by a weakly pronounced
ciliated antrum, ciliated vagina, and a thin sclerotized nozzle of bursa; the seminal vesicle does not have
its own walls. Seven species are referred to the genus, they are: S. schultzei (O. Schmidt, 1852), S.
roscoffensis (Graff, 1891), S. japonica (Kato, 1951), S. macnaei (Du Bois Reymond Marcus, 1957), S.
psammophila (Beklemischev, 1957), S. bifoveolata (Mamkaev, 1971), S. nitidae (Yamasu, 1982). A detailed
revision of S. psammophila is given. The comparative description of its reproductive apparatus contains new
data on S. bifoveolata and S. schultzei."
