Faubel, Blome, & Cannon (1944) (citation) note that Steinbock's (1935) description of P. groenlandicum is inadequate and that the anterior opening and position of its pharynx, and that the rest of the species' organization is essentially like that of Macrostomum, warrant assigning P. groenlandicum to Omalostomum.
