Cicerininae Ptyalorhynchus Notes
The name was introduced by Meixner, with a diagnosis, in an unpublished work. Later it was described by Ax, based on specimens found by him and identified as P. caecus using the unpublished diagnosis and drawings by Meixner. Ax considered Meixner as author of the name, but this is unjustified according to the rules of the ICZN (art. 50). The correct author therefore is Ax, 1951. (See also Karling, 1992)
