Papi F 1957 (citation)- gives the following diagnosis for genus (in comparison with his new
	genus Hofsteniola).  "Hofsteniidae of large dimensions, with nerve elements around the 
	statocysts.  Mouth subterminal, phyarynx with a in arrangement of muscle layers atypical and
	complex.  Testes diffuse, granular vesicle present.  Type of the genus an only species
	H. atrioviridis Bock from the pacific coast of Japan". [Bush translation].

Hyman LH 1951 (citation)- vol 2, p 77 epithelium with muscle fibers in it.  p 83 on nervous system
	next ot epidermis.  p 93 calls this an Alloeocoel.  on statocyst in - ill p 100.  p 148 lists
	this genus in Alloeocoels but notes frontal gland in- also statocyst p 148.  p 150 includes this
	genus in the Lecithoepitheliata.
