Young 1976 (citation)- p. 426, notes that "Du Bois-Reymond Marcus 1951 (citation) and Marcus 1955 (citation) believe the animal is not recognizable and certainly does not belong to the sub-family Mesostominae. Stummer-Traunfels and Meixner 1930 (citation) placed the animal in the genus Mesostoma; rightly, Du Bois-Reymond Marcus 1951 (citation) indicates that this is erroneous."
