Rhynchokarlingiidae Mariareuterella Diagnosis


Medium- or small-sized Rhynchokarlingiidae (1–3 mm long) with two cuticular hooks in male copulatory
apparatus. Hooks of extremely variable form and size, resembling knives, daggers, claws, etc; but they always
triangular- or cone-shaped (not sack-shaped), with more or less developed, often bent, sharp distal tips.
Hook length in each pair either equal or different. Bulbus muscle wall either non-homogeneously developed,
with paired thickenings or knob-shaped structures, or without them, homogeneous. Penis with normally
developed papilla.
