Rhynchokarlingiidae Cohenella Diagnosis

Large or medium-sized Rhynchokarlingiidae (3–6 mm long) with two very small cuticular hooks in male
copulatory
apparatus, which may be almost or completely reduced. Largest hooks barely reach 70–100 µm in the maximum
length; claw-shaped, smallest hooks in form of irregular rounded structures, with maximum size ca. 25–40
µm. Some species do not have hooks at all. Penis consists of very long, cylindrical bulbus and comparatively
small, rounded (in exceptional cases, cone-shaped) papilla, which is several times shorter than bulbus.
Bulbus muscle wall thick and strong, without any thickenings or knob-shaped structures. Vesiculae seminalis
shorter than bulbus, thick-walled, pear- or triangle-shaped.
