Faubel A 1976 (citation) -  Diagnosis p 34- "Color by rhabdites or stored pigment bodies.  Frontal gland generally
very strongly developed.  Mouth ventral.  Ovary and testes mixed in a common germinal center.  Copulatory
organ consists of a ciliated antrum masculinum with terminal opening on posterior end and a more or less well
developed seminal vesicle.  A short cone-shaped penis is present only in H. rubra (An der Lan).  Female
accessory organs lacking."
