Phaenocora bresslaui Diagnosis


Animals about 3 mm long, with a reddish head. With a small tail. Eyes red. Zoochlorellae absent. The male copulatory organ of the duplex-type IIIA. Female genital system of the EVELINAE-type. Female genital canal distally with a diverticulum, at the left side. With a lobular intestinal bursa, which is connected to the gut by a very rudimentary genito-bursal duct. A sphincter is present between the female genital canal and the intestinal bursa.
