Phaenocora adenticulata Diagnosis


Male copulatory organ of the duplex-type IIA. When evaginated, the copulatory organ ends bluntly. Zoochlorellae not mentioned in literature. Female genital system of the AGLOBULATA-type. Female genital canal extremely long and tapering gradually from the atrial to the proximal end. Three giant unicellular glands present, which are irregularly distributed along the female genital canal. One, or sometimes two of these glands situated a little more distally in the female genital canal. Also smaller unicellular glands present, some of which empty into the genito-bursal duct, while others occur all over the female genital canal. Two of these smaller unicellular cells always present at the junction of the female genital canal and the superior atrium.
