Prosthiostomum montiporaeJun 6, 1971orignally discovered on the coral Montipora verrucosa (Lamarck) in experimental aquaria at Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology on Mokuoloe Island (Coconut Island), Kaneohe Bay. Subsequently found associated with M. verrucosa in Kaneohe Bay.
