Abstract / Notes
From April 1, 1953 to the end of June, 1954, the ecology of turbellarians, living in Harsz Lake, was examined. Once a month or once a fortnight samples have been taken from 32 stations (They were situated in all the habitats of the lake.) The quantitative data, referring to turbellarians of that lake are presented in 5-degree-scale of abundance. In description of the materials, the term "Class of Constancy" is introduced. The following are the results of this work: 39 spp. of turbellarians and 1 fresh-water nemertine (found for the first time in Poland) have been described. The appearing and disappearing of Turbellaria sp. populations in their year-cycle is presented. Vertical distribution of turbellarian spp. has been investigated. Occurrence of turbellarian spp. in 32 habitats has been examined. The existence of 9 coexisting groups of turbellarian spp. have been distinguished. They are called "taxocenes" and they are parts of association. The ecological characteristics of spp. occurring in Harsz Lake are presented.
