Abstract / Notes
The taxonomic history of the family is briefly reviewed. Data are given on 15 collection localities in Brazil. Kontkia is erected with type K. orana, and including K. whartoni. (Geoplana whartoni Gulliver), K. nasuta (G. nasuta Loman), K. kenneli (G. kenneli Graff), K. insularis (G insularis Prudhoe). K. assimilis (G. assimilis Graff). K. canaliculata (G. canaliculata Graff). K. korotneffi (G. korotneffi Graff), and K. pelewensis (G. pelewensis Graff). Descriptions are given of Geoplana and 6 spp. in it; of Geobia with 1 sp.; of Choeradoplana with 4 spp. including C. marthae and C. catua; Issoca with type I. rezendei (Geoplana rezendi Schirch), I. jandai, I. piranga; Xarapoa with type X. hystrix, X. una, and an unnamed Xerapoa sp.
