Abstract / Notes
Descr. and biological data on 17 spp. of Geoplanidae from Chile. Studies on the regeneration of Geoplana pulla; the extreme anterior parts can regenerate the lost posterior parts; posterior parts are less capable of regeneration, due to the differentiated organs contained; the central parts have very little capacity for regeneration. The regenerative process is effected by a "morphalaxis," the lost parts being replaced by pro longation and transformation of existing parts; regeneration is aided by indifferent material which insinuates itself into the regenerative cone.
