Kepner WA, Gilbert CM (1931) Observations on a North American variety of Castrella truncata Abildg. Zool Anz 96:169-177 |
Abstract / Notes
variety of this turbellarian, Castrella truncata, is recorded from Pennsylvania, the first authentic N. Amer. record. The "bursa copulatrix" is a discrete organ, separated from the atrium by a muscular neck. Its function has not been satisfactorily explained. The major part of the development of the egg takes place in the genital atrium.
