Abstract / Notes
Morphology of Baicalellia stretzovi sp. n. is described, distinct from other species of the genus by the stylet structure of the copulatory organ. Specific features of B. stretzovi are transferse lineation of the radial musculature of the pharynx and spermacontaining vacuoles in the epithelium of the most proximal part of the female genital duct. Based on the morphological features species of Baicatellia from the North Hemisphere are tentatively divided into two groups: the first includes B. posieti from the Sea of Japan, species from the Lake Baikal and B. stretzovi; the second consists of B. brevituba and B. subsalina from the European and Greenland coasts.
