Abstract / Notes

Five new species of the Proseriata, i.e. Polystyliphora australiensis sp. n., Minona queenslandensis sp. n.,
Cannona woolgoolgae gen. et sp. n., Stilivannuccia glandulifera gen. et sp. n., and Minoninae specimens
(incertae sedis) are described. Minoninae specimens (inc. sed.) are characterized by two accessory prostatoid
organs. This character warrants the establishment of a new genus within the Minoninae, but because nothing is
known on the male copulatory system, the authors desist from that. The species inhabit sandy beaches of
subtropical and warm temperate areas of Queensland and NSW, Australia. The subfamily Cannoninae subfam. n. is
established based on the position of the germaria behind the pharynx. The establishment of the subfamily
Archiloinae subfam. n. is based on the characters outlined by MARTENS and CURINI-GALLETTI 1994. The
subfamilies Minoninae, Archiloinae, and Cannoninae represent monophyletic taxa of the Monocelididae. The
remaining genera (subfamily Monocelidinae) constitute a heterogenous grouping. The new genera Pseudovannuccia
gen. n. and Stilivannuccia gen. n. (Coelogynoporidae) are established on the basis of the great heterogeneity
of the sclerotised armature of the male complex of the genus Vannuccia Marcus.
