Abstract / Notes
In interstitial habitats of the island of Gran Canaria, 9 spp. of the Turbellaria were found, including Paratomella rubra Rieger et Ott. 1971, Duplominoma canariensis sp. nov., Vannuccia campana sp. nov., Cirrifera cerrifera Sopott, 1972. Invenusta aestus Sopott-Ehlers, 1976, Nematoplana cf. asita Marcus, 1950, Pseudosyrtis calcaris Sopott-Ehlers, 1976, Messoplana canariensis sp. nov. and Diascorhynchus bucina sp. nov. Paratomella rubra, Vannuccia campana, Cirrifera cirrifera, Ivenusta aestus also occur at several beaches in Europe and Africa. P. rubra, C. cirrifera and Nematoplana cf. asita also occur along the Atlantic coast of the Americas. In spite of the isolated sites the beaches within the archipelago should be reached frequently by animals from continental beaches.
