Abstract / Notes

The specimens studied were in a collection from the Dutch East Indies. There is a discussion of Bipalium
marginatum Loman. Placocephalus bergendali Graff and P. kraepelini Ritter-Zahony are synonyms of B.
robiginosum Gr.; and Platydemus bivittatus Gr. is a synonym of P. macrophthalmus* Gr. The copulatory
apparatus of the latter and of P. vanheurni, New Guinea, are described. Planolinius exsul de
Beauchamp is the 1st heteronemertian reported from fresh water, probably having been carried to the waters
of
Buitenzorg from the mangrove littoral where it was some time ago reported with a polychaete.
