Abstract / Notes

Four new acotylean species of the order Polycladida, i.e. Mabelaplana santateresae sp. nov., Barcoplana
rochensis sp. nov., Adenodactyloplana uruguayensis sp. nov., and Hylocelis diabloensis sp. nov. were found on
the southern West Atlantic coast of Uruguay. The new genus Adenodactyloplana gen. nov., member of the family
Cryptocelididae, is established based on the presence of an adenodactylus entering the distal part of the
ejaculatory duct. Mabelaplana gen. nov. and Barcoplana gen n. are members of the Stylochocestididae.
Mabelaplana is characterized based on the presence of a vaginal duct and penis papilla. Barcoplana is
established on the basis of a vaginal duct and a distal ejaculatory duct working as cirrus. The four new
species were collected on rocky beaches of Santa Teresa National Park, Uruguay. The species live in the
littoral zone on rocks within Mytilus edulis assemblages.
