Abstract / Notes
"A new genus EZONA (type species E. pinnigera ), is established for 2 previously unknown species of__coelogynoporid turbellarians collected at several coasts of Hokkaido, northern Japan _E. pinnigera, and E.__habomaiensis sp. nov._. The new genus is clearly definable from other known genera of the family by a unique__combination of some noticeable characteristics: the presence of the copulatory stylets in substitution for a__cirrus, the tripartite seminal vesicle in front of the gonopore, and the ductus genitointestinalis, and the__absence of a bursal vesicle. The 2 new species are easily distinguishable from each other in the structure of__the male copulatory organ. Systematic relations among the new genus and the other genera of the family are__discussed and a key to the genera is presented _including Coelogynopora, Invenusta, Carenscoilia, Cirrifera,__Vannuccia and Ezona_. The male copulatory organ, the ductus genitointestinalis and circular muscles around__the intestinal canal of the new species are evaluated taxonomically."
