Studies on the turbellarian fauna of the Norfolk area. II. Jensenia lewisi n. sp.
Trans Am Microsc Soc 67:305-314

Abstract / Notes

J. lewisi n. sp. was obtained from a small salt water creek near Norfolk, Virginia. The reproductive systems
show marked differences from those of the other spp. of the genus. It may also be distinguished by shape of
the body, relative size of the pharynx and number and size of dermal rhabdites. The penis stilette has
evolved very little from the hypothetical ancestral condition which has been suggested as the starting point
for the evolution of the stilette in the Dalyelliini
