Abstract / Notes
J. lewisi n. sp. was obtained from a small salt water creek near Norfolk, Virginia. The reproductive systems show marked differences from those of the other spp. of the genus. It may also be distinguished by shape of the body, relative size of the pharynx and number and size of dermal rhabdites. The penis stilette has evolved very little from the hypothetical ancestral condition which has been suggested as the starting point for the evolution of the stilette in the Dalyelliini
