Abstract / Notes
A short review of the relevant literature and described fauna up to the year 1914 is followed by a discussion or description with illustrations of the 6 spp. which have been added to the German planarian fauna since 1914, namely, Rhynchodemus terrestris, Rhynchodemus albicollis, Rhynchodemus bilineatus, Microplana humicola, Placocephalus kewensis, and Geoplana multicolor. Three of the spp. were introduced by man. The controlling factor in the areal distr. seems to be the moisture. There is a key to the German spp.; a list of the known land planarians and their distr. and a comprehensive bibliography, are included.
