Marcus E 1954 (citation)- with coars sand in upper littoral of island of Sao Sebastiao. description and illustration p 426-429, 480. figures 10, 11, 12, 13. "Paraphanostoma etium, n. sp. (Fig. 10-13), from coarse sand in the upper littoral of the island of São Sebastião, belongs to the same group as P. macroposthium (Steinb.), brachyposthium Westbl. and westbladi Marc. It differs from brachyposthium by smaller size (2.5 mm alive) and proportionally longer stylet. The two other species are 1.5 mm alive. The new species has its mouth (b) in the anterior half of the body, westbladi in the middle, and macroposthium and brachyposthium in the posterior half. P. macroposthium has a simple vaginal or antral caecum; P. etium a bifurcated one (c); P. brachyposthium and westbladi have none. The female pore of P. etium (v) is much nearer to the male (r) than to the mouth (b); in brachyposthium it is equidistant; in macroposthium and westbladi nearer to the mouth. Very peculiar is the ductus spermaticus (z) of the new species, viz. a plasmatic cone surrounded by its nuclei. This appendix contrasts completely with that of the three other mentioned species." Dorjes J 1968 (citation)- lists p 112. Dorjes J, Karling TG 1975 (citation)- Swedish Museum of Natural History, Brazil figure 19 of female parts. p 183.
