Young 1976 (citation)-p 424, notes that "Ball (citation) placed the species in the subgenus Dugesia but emphasised that its status needs clarification. Later he (Ball 1974 (citation)) included the species in the genus Neppia. Kenk 1974 (citation) lists the species as Cure evelinae Marcus 1955."
