Pereyaslawzewa D 1892 (citation)- describes this species and also varieties violacea and nigra. elongated p 226-7. color- dirty brown- due to melanin granules in tissues. Not straight body when swimming but curved. Figures on movement. Compares with Convoluta cinerea but tha like paradoxa, etc. [Bush- rather vague descritpion in general- varieties are color varieties- otherwise same].
