Kenk R 1977 (citation)- p 6, 'Because of the bad condition of the type specimens, the exact position of the species cannot be determined. All characters of the copulatory apparatus are compatible with S. percoeca (which occurs also in the neighboring state of Alabama). The only essential difference appears to be in the location of the testes, which in S. percoeca are dorsal and in S. georgiana, according to Hyman's description, ventral. Hyman's statement, however, is probably erroneous. The identity of the two species has already been suspected by Carpenter (1970: 77).'
