Westblad E 1949 (citation)- English account of why he gives credit to Bock for this species. Westblad states on p 43, 'Bock, according to verbal information given to the author [Westblad], intended at that time to publish a paper soon on the undoubtedly most interesting form, which he called Meara stichopi, a name also used in my account of 1926. Unfortunately his paper did not appear in his lifetime. Among his scientific remains, deposited in the charge of the Museum, there are however several copies of a complete typewritten manuscript dealing with the animal just mentioned and bearing the title 'Eine neue parasitische Turbellarian-Gattung mit epithelialem Nervensystem'. An examination by a competent person of the manuscript, probably written twenty years ago, was necessary for an eventual publication. On that account the manuscript with the pictures belonging to the same and the slides have kindly been lent to me by the present head of the Department, Prof. Nils Odhner.' He goes on to say that it was 'hardly doing his memory service to publish his manuscript', and chose to write a new paper updated paper. This paper has figures and plates, as well as information on occurrence, habitat, anatomy, muscle, nervous, digestive, and reproductive system. Systematic position is also discussed.
