Convolutidae Polychoerus Diagnosis
Convolutidae with two genital openings, female opening in front of male opening; male genital organ consists of a penis with a ciliated epithelium and outer circular and inner longitudinal muscles and is invaginated into a tissue plug, composed of vacuolated parenchyma, peripheral parenchyma, and parenchymal muscles that surround and run through this parenchyma in a circular manner, but do not form a distinct muscular bulb. Seminal bursa is kidney-shaped and syncytial, bearing 2–55 bursal nozzles. Flat, wide body with slight restriction at midbody. Usually with two lateral lappets and filaments at posterior rim, which are absent in P. gordoni.
