Abstract / Notes
Two species of aquatic triclad are reported for the first time from the Bismarck Archipelago: the marine triclad Paucumara trigonocephala (Ijima and Kaburaki, 1916) from Mussau Island and New Britain, and the freshwater planarian Dugesia mertoni (Steinmann, 1914) from New Britain. The paper provides the first redescription of D. mertoni since its superficial description in 1914. The taxonomy, ecology, and biogeography of the two species are discussed.
