"A new species of the genus Dugesia (Turbellaria, Tricladida, Paludicola) from the vicinity of Quebrada de los Cuervos, Departamento de Treinta y Tres, Uruguay, and the vicinity of Arroio do Meio, approximately 70 km W of Salvador do Sul, Estado de Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, is described: Dugesia ururiograndeana Kawakatsu, Hauser et Ponce de Leon, sp. nov. The present new species has large dorsal testes and symmetrical penis papilla; it is also characterized by an extraordinarily thick muscle coat surrounding the bursal stalk. Dugesia tigrina (Girard, 1850) is also recorded from Uruguay and southern Brazil."
