Abstract / Notes
The author describes and figures the anatomy from Vayssiere's and other specimens, and concludes that Monticelli was correct in considering the worm the type of a new genus, Dactylocephala, of which an emended diagnosis is given. The characters are 12 tentacles at anterior end, rudimentary sucker at posterior end, contractile excretory ampulla on each side, 2 simple eyes, sometimes lacking; well-developed pharynx, intestine saccular; 6 pairs of testes, copulatory apparatus rudimentary, genital atrium ventral, posterior; eggs claviform with a short stalk, fastened to the legs and abdominal segments of crayfishes.
