Abstract / Notes
Beuther's expts. were repeated on a considerably larger scale, on variously colored backgrounds and with variously colored filters, using fundamentally the same methods. In this work Beuther's assumption of color vision was not verified. For example, animals positive to color were rendered negative to color. The comparative effects of various grays differing in brightness, and colors differing in intensity were ascertained. The reactions of normal un-blinded Planaria (P. lugubris) may be explained as reactions to differences in intensity, although the sense of brightness in Planaria is not acute. Concerning the presence or absence of true color vision, nothing is said.| Home page -- (Main hierarchy) |
