Abstract / Notes
P. carolinesis sp. nov. from One Bat Cave, Burke County, North Carolina, is a slender, unpigmented species with 2 small eyes and is characterized by its peculiar penial anatomy and by the development of an enormous vagina with special histological differentiation. It belongs to a group of closely related species of Phagocata [P. angusta and P. holleri] distributed in the Appalachian region.
